Kent State Online Among 2023 Best Online Programs in Nursing, Business, and Education

U.S. News & World Report has named five Kent State programs as U.S. News Best Online Programs for 2023. Kent State is recognized in the Best Online Master’s in Nursing Programs, Best Online Master’s in Nursing Education Programs, Best Online Master’s in Business Programs, Best Online MBA Programs, and Best Online Master’s in Education Programs rankings.

Ken State University’s Online Nursing programs

Kent State University is doing its part to help address the nationwide nursing shortage by training highly skilled nurses to add to the nursing talent pool. In addition, Kent State is educating students to become nurse educators to address the shortage of nursing school faculty to teach, mentor, and develop nursing students and practicing nurses, compounding the overall nursing shortage. Both programs are now being recognized as top programs in the nation in new rankings.

Kent State’s online master’s in nursing program, offered by the College of Nursing, moved up three spots to No. 65 in the nation among all public and private institutions, making it once again the highest-ranked program in northern Ohio. Impressively, Kent State’s Nurse Educator program, a specialty ranked under the Best Online Master’s in Nursing Programs, came in at No. 11, the highest ranking among institutions in northern Ohio. It is the first time that Kent State’s Nurse Educator program has been ranked by U.S. News.

Kent State University’s Online Master of Science in Nursing

The online Master of Science in Nursing degree prepares nurses for advanced clinical roles while making them eligible for national certification as clinical nurse specialists (CNS), nurse practitioners (NP), or to serve as nurse educators, health care management, or leadership roles.

This degree meets the educational eligibility requirements for national certification in the respective study area. Full-time students can complete the degree program in four to five semesters (two full academic years). Part-time students typically take three to four years to complete the program.

Kent State University’s Online Business programs

Two programs offered by Kent State’s Ambassador Crawford College of Business and Entrepreneurship are among the best in the 2023 rankings. The online master’s in business programs comes in at No. 100, the highest ranking among all institutions in Northeast Ohio. Kent State’s Online MBA program jumped 51 spots in the list to rank No. 102 this year, making it the highest-ranked program in northern Ohio.

Kent State University’s Online Master of Business Administration (MBA)

The modular, eight-week course structure allows you to enroll in any semester and study at your own pace. The online MBA offers a case-based curriculum, a flexible schedule, academic advisors who are always willing to help, access to an MBA career coach, digital career services offerings, and an online speaker series. The online MBA offers access to a full range of resources also offered to in-person graduate students.

The online Master of Business Administration degree is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International (AACSB).

Offered by the College of Education, Health and Human Services, Kent State’s online graduate education programs have once again been recognized as the highest ranked at a public university in Northeast Ohio, ranking at No. 142. This list compiles the rankings of online programs offering master’s degrees in education. This is the sixth year Kent State’s online graduate education programs have been ranked by U.S. News.

Kent State University Online Master’s Degrees from the College of Education, Health and Human Services

The College of Education, Health, and Human Services (EHHS) at Kent State University offers several graduate degrees, concentrations, and certificates 100% online. With the working professional in mind, the college is dedicated to providing quality education on an online platform.

Cultural Foundations (M.Ed.) - The Online Master of Education degree in Cultural Foundations explores education through a range of disciplinary and interdisciplinary perspectives: philosophy of education, history of education, sociology of education, comparative/international education, anthropology of education, gender studies, multicultural studies, and religious studies.

Curriculum & Instruction (M.Ed.) - The Online Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction provides a wide range of graduate study opportunities in progressive, research-based curriculum and teaching practices.
