Kent State University Online Master of Education in Educational Technology

The Online Master of Education in Educational Technology prepares students to design, develop and use a variety of technologies in school classrooms, in training facilities, or in other educational settings. The program’s Online and Blended Learning Certificate and the Computer Technology Endorsement are also offered online.

Students have the opportunity to complete a dual degree program with the M.Ed. degree in Educational Technology and the MLIS degree in School Library Media K-12. The M.Ed./MLIS dual degree program leads to multi-age initial licensure in school library media. This program prepares students to work in all types of libraries, including school libraries. Kent State University Online Doctor of Education in Interprofessional Leadership

The Online Doctor of Education in Interprofessional Leadership allows for the study of leadership from an interprofessional perspective that is framed around questions of equity, ethics, and social justice to bring about solutions to complex problems of practice. The program prepares leaders who can construct and apply knowledge to make a difference for individuals, families, organizations, and communities.

The Ed.D. degree in Interprofessional Leadership is cohort-based, starting in the summer term, with students taking three to five years to complete the degree. Students select a cognate area for specialized study. Examples of cognates include special education, educational technology, curriculum and instruction, athletic training education, and cultural foundations of education.

Dr. Astrid N. Sambolín Morales is an Assistant Professor in Kent State Online’s 100% Online Master of Education degree in Cultural Foundations. She received her PhD in Educational Equity and Cultural Diversity from the University of Colorado Boulder and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania. Her research provides a more nuanced picture of the agency, resistance, and empowerment enacted by displaced Puerto Rican m(others) in the U.S., and her work was funded by several grants, including the University of Colorado Natural Hazards Center, the BUENO Center for Multicultural Education, the URBAN Research Network, and the NAEd Spencer Foundation.
Felesia McDonald, ’14 is an adjunct instructor in the iSchool, teaching courses in the 100% Online Master of Science in User Experience. McDonald is also the Sr Manager UX Design at Optum, a branch of UnitedHealth Group.
