Application Tips:

1) Start with a Plan

All plans begin with research. Research programs and schools you are interested in, application requirements, and deadlines. Here’s a handy list to follow:1

  • Research each college
  • Brainstorm your answers to the essay topics
  • Write the applications
  • Get feedback
  • Revise your work
  • Take an extended break
  • Revise again

2) Gather Recommendation Letters

Ask teachers and mentors to write you a letter of recommendation for your program application. Remember that people are busy, so give them plenty of time to meet your application deadline.

3) Stay Connected!

Always follow up after you’ve submitted your application to ensure that all application pieces have been completed and received. After submitting your application for a Kent State University online program, contact our student services team.
