Need Help with Your Graduate Application: Resources for Graduate Applicants at Kent State

Completing your graduate application is easier than you think when you have the right support system in place. At Kent State University, we offer comprehensive support systems at every stage of the admissions process to guide you. Furthermore, we provide resources to support you along the way, from guides for obtaining reference letters to assistance with writing your goal statement.  

The support system at Kent State University includes a variety of individuals, each specializing in different areas, to assist you: 

Admissions Coordinators 

At Kent State, an admissions coordinator is personally assigned to you when you begin your application. Your coordinator will be available to answer general questions about the program, inform you about document submission processes, update you on received and missing documents, assist you with the portal, and guide you through the next steps after being admitted.  

Program Coordinators 

Each program at Kent State has an expert faculty member serving as the program coordinator. Program coordinators can answer your specific questions, including information about course offerings, internship opportunities, specific course details, and transfer credits. 

Graduate College 

The Graduate College at Kent State offers general assistance with graduate school information. If you are looking for graduate scholarships or fellowships, they can provide you with more details as they administer them to students each year. Once admitted, the Graduate College will also provide you with a variety of opportunities for your success from your start to graduation.  

Financial, Billing, and Enrollment Center 

The FBE Center is dedicated to supporting you with questions about finances, scholarships, billing, and academic standing.

Academic College 

Every program is assigned to an academic college. Each academic college has resources and support systems in place to assist you once you have been admitted. If you have specific needs, they are also a great resource in providing guidance on the right program in their college. Additionally, some colleges may offer scholarships for programs, based on availability.  

Center for Adult and Veteran Services

Our award-winning Center for Adult and Veteran Services (CAVS) office, recognized consecutively for excellence in service to the military community, aids adult, military-connected, and parenting students throughout the admissions process and beyond. The Center for Adult and Veteran Services can answer any questions you have about military-related benefits or adult services. Its focus is to provide you with the tools you need to succeed as an adult, military-connected, or parenting student.  

Office of Global Education 

The Office of Global Education (OGE) provides guidance to international students, assisting with visas, international admissions, and education abroad opportunities.  

Faculty 

Once admitted, additional experts in your field of study will be assigned to provide ongoing guidance throughout your academic journey. These experts have years of experience in their respective fields and conduct cutting-edge research. As part of our distinguished R1 research university designation, they help further your opportunities to enhance both your academic and professional development.
