Online and Blended Learning

The Online and Blended Learning graduate certificate provides the skills people need to teach effectively online, whether they are teaching an entire course online or integrating web-based activities into a traditionally taught class. Students examine recommendations from research, design their own instructional modules and develop effective strategies for delivering instruction online.

For educators interested in the growing field of online and blended instruction, the Educational Technology program offers a certificate in Online and Blended Learning and Teaching. It is not endorsed by the state of Ohio, nor does it confer any official state licensure. It is a federally approved certificate program sponsored by the university.

The certificate is awarded for taking the three required courses, (9 credit hours altogether). The courses can be taken in any order (no prerequisites) and can be combined with the general master’s degree in Educational Technology.

Program Structure

• 9 minimum total credits
• 3 courses
• Certificates must be completed within six years after the first graduate enrollment

¹The $571.90 per-credit-hour tuition rate applies to part-time Ohio resident graduate students taking fewer than 11 credit hours per semester.

²The $581.90 per-credit-hour tuition rate applies to part-time non-Ohio resident graduate students enrolled in a fully online degree program and taking fewer than 11 credit hours per semester, PLUS a surcharge of $10 per credit hour.

An additional Distance Learning fee for all students enrolled in a distance learning course is $15 per credit hour. Program tuition and costs are estimated and subject to change.
