Online Program Admission Requirements for Kent State’s College of Public Health

Bachelor of Science in Public Health Admissions Requirements

  • Be in your senior year of high school or hold a high school diploma, GED or equivalent degree
  • Apply for admission using the Kent State Application or the Common Application
  • Application fee: $50
  • Complete the full college preparatory curriculum as recommended by the Ohio State Board of Education

Master’s Programs

MPH in Health Policy and Management, Social and Behavioral Sciences, Epidemiology; MS in Clinical Epidemiology

All master's programs require:

  • Completed online application
  • Complete bachelor's degree, with a GPA of 3.0 or higher (on a 4.0 scale), from an accredited university
  • Application fee: $45
  • Official transcripts
  • Goal statement
  • Resume/CV
  • There is no GRE requirement

Letters of recommendation:

  • All MPH programs and the MS in Clinical Epidemiology: Two letters of recommendation from professors and/or employers

Graduate Certificates

Clinical Research, Healthcare Compliance

  • Completed online application
  • Bachelor's degree, with a GPA of 3.0 or higher (on a 4.0 scale), from an accredited university
  • Application fee: $45
  • Official transcripts
  • Resume/CV
  • Goal statement
  • There are no requirements for the GRE or recommendation letters

Exclusive Opportunity for Kent State University Undergraduates: The Combined Program

Launch your career sooner than you expected. In Kent State’s public health program, juniors and seniors with qualifying GPAs can apply up to 12 credit hours of coursework toward the public health bachelor’s and master’s degrees. By earning double credits, you’ll start and complete your online MPH or online MS in Clinical Epidemiology earlier than anticipated, save money on tuition and fees, and be prepared to dive into your career ahead of your classmates and ahead of schedule. Language Proficiency for International Students

All international students must provide proof of English language proficiency (unless they meet specific exceptions to waive) by earning one of the following:*

  • Minimum 79 TOEFL iBT score
  • Minimum 6.5 IELTS score
  • Minimum 58 PTE score
  • Minimum 110 DET score

There are a limited number of specific exceptions to this requirement. Contact an admissions outreach advisor for more information.

*International applicants who do not meet the above test scores will not be considered for admission.
